Dave McGillivray is a man of many hats and accomplishments; a businessman, an athlete, an author, a motivational speaker and a philanthropist. His event management company, Dave McGillivray Sports Enterprises, annually organizes more than 30 road races and charitable walks around the country, and he is the longtime director of the Boston Marathon and the New Balance Falmouth Road Race. BOSTON — Renowned race director and endurance athlete Dave McGillivray finished his 47th consecutive B.A.A. Boston Marathon at 9:45pm after having open-heart, triple bypass surgery only six months ago.
McGillivray was joined by 15 other running friends, including eight who ran the 2018 World Marathon Challenge with him.

I first met Dave in January 2014 at the Walt Disney Marathon Race Expo when he was one of the guest speakers. He was also there to run the Dopey Challenge (5K, 10K, Half and Full in consecutive days). We've kept in touch over the last 5 years and I consider him a friend.
