As participants prepared to cross the starting line at the Run Medford 5K and 8K on Sept. 18, Medford Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn revealed that the track at Hormel Stadium will be dedicated to race director and former resident Dave McGillivray and named in his honor.

As participants prepared to cross the starting line at the Run Medford 5K and 8K on Sept. 18, Medford Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn made a surprise announcement to the crowd. To thank Race Director and native son Dave McGillivray for his impact on the local community, she revealed that the track at Medford’s Hormel Stadium would be dedicated to McGillivray and named in his honor. Lungo-Koehn presented Dave with the plaque that will soon be installed at the track.

The Dave McGillivray Finish Strong Foundation has announced the beneficiaries of funds raised through Run Medford, a brand new weekend-long celebration of community, running, and the City of Medford produced by DMSE Sports and hosted by the foundation. The event highlights founder and race director Dave McGillivray’s connection, legacy, and community service with his hometown. The nonprofits and community organizations selected carry that theme forward.
