A few well-known folks ran the Celebrity Mile portion of the DMSE Sports Classic, held over the weekend at Merrimack College in North Andover. Events also included a half marathon, 10K, and 5K races.

Among those breaking a sweat were NASA astronaut Sunita Williams, Police Commissioner Bill Evans, “The Singing Trooper” Dan Clark, famed distance swimmer Diana Nyad, assorted media types, and former Pats lineman Max Lane.

Others taking part included Boston Marathon bombing survivors Adrianne Haslet and Jeff Bauman, and Marathon bombing responder Carlos Arredondo. . . . Meanwhile, we spied former governor (and 2016 Libertarian Party VP nominee) Bill Weld enjoying a beverage Wednesday at Tavitas, the Mexican restaurant at South Station.
